Round Pegs Square Holes with Russell Brunson episodes

  • Welcome to the "Round Pegs Square Holes" Podcast!

I built this show because, if I'm completely honest, I wanted it to exist.
A couple of years ago I started collecting old books. The authors I found in them — people who've been gone for decades — completely changed my life. And I kept thinking: I interview people for a living. I wish I could sit these authors down in a studio and ask them my questions.
Then I remembered Napoleon Hill. In Think and Grow Rich he describes his nightly "invisible counsel": he'd sit alone, picture Andrew Carnegie, Abraham Lincoln and the heroes he never got to meet, ask them questions in his mind, and take their answers seriously. He said it was one of the most valuable things he did.
This podcast is my version of that — with one rule that makes the whole thing honest: I ask the questions, but my guests only answer with words they actually wrote or spoke. Their books, their speeches, their own words in print. Nothing put in their mouths.
In this short intro I explain:
    • The nightly ritual from Think and Grow Rich that the entire show is built on
    • The one rule I set so nobody could ever say I made my guests say something they wouldn't
    • Why the quotes you see ripped off on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok trace back to these people — and who actually said them
    • Who the "round pegs and square holes" are, and why I call them my friends and my Invisible Counsel
These are the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers — the ones who saw things differently and pushed the human race forward. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. The one thing you can't do is ignore them.
Here's to the crazy ones. Welcome to the show.
Which author would you want at this desk first? Tell me in the comments.
