Have you struggled with forming good routines? Like a great morning routine, exercise or even reading before bed?
It’s really easy to give up on routines, and think they just work for us. Instead it’s important to understand that our brain is wired with patterns, including a pattern of abandoning routines when things get tough. As a result we often stop trying to set routines, because we know it just won’t work for us in the long run.
The issue stems from the design of our brain - it’s goal is to prevent us from cognitive discomfort - so it will try to avoid sticking to routines if that means you experiencing any form of cognitive pain.
The goal is to understand that behind routines is the science of commitment. You need to wire your brain with the goal of committing to the hard times upfront - visualising what could go wrong and training your brain to fight through it -before it’s even happened. ❤️
