There has been much talk in Canada about incoming U.S. president Donald Trump telling PM Justin Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago that Canada might consider becoming the 51st state if $100 billion in trade tariffs would sink the Canadian economy, as Trudeau reportedly claimed.

As 6.8 million Canadians live in daily food insecurity, including 2.1 million Canadian children, Canada's 2025 Food Price Report predicts a family of four in Canada will spend an additional $800 during calendar 2025.
