only did Jesus have authority over the wind, commanding it to stop, He also had authority over evil spirits. Remember John the Baptist said that God had given Jesus “authority over everything” (John 3:35). The demons that possessed the man we’ve just read about were obviously very powerful, to the point of being able to empower the man with the strength to break chains. However, they were no match for Jesus. In fact, all the evil spirits in the world together don’t have a fraction of the power that God has.

1 Corinthians 3: I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

Signs of being lukewarm

Typically, those who might be considered lukewarm Christians have some following characteristics. For a longer list, go to What are some of the signs of being a lukewarm Christian?

They live a different life on Sunday than they do the rest of the week
Their friends don’t know they are Christian
They would rather be accepted socially than reveal their Christian faith
They don’t read the Bible very much
They don’t pray very much or only pray to God during difficult times.
They don’t share your faith very often, if at all
They only go to church for social reasons, if at all.
Being a real Christian means that we take the things of God seriously and we seek to follow Christ and his teachings. Jesus wants us to deny ourselves and follow him.

What does Jesus require?

Matthew 10:38, “And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.”
Matthew 16:24, Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.”
Luke 14:27–28, “Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. 28 “For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?”
John 13:35, “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

I think of the old song entitled, "I Was Born to Serve the Lord." The first stanza says:
From the dust of the Earth
God created man
His breath made man a living soul
And for God so loved the world
He gave his only Son
And that is why I love Him so

2. The second stanza says:
My hand were made to help my neighbor
My eyes were made to read God's Word
My feet were made to walk in His footsteps
My body is the temple of the Lord.

A lukewarm Christian is someone who claims to be a believer in Jesus but does not appear to be committed to Christ, may occasionally attend church, rarely reads the Bible, and dabbles in the sinful things of the world. Such so-called Christians appear to be Christians in name only but are most probably false converts.

Chapter 12; 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
All around you is the rumble of revival and reformation. An earthquake of American freedom. It beckons you!
But you are waiting. Every atom of your being screams for you to jump into the river that is healing America. All the cells of your body are vibrating with anticipation. But you hesitate. You are hoping your lukewarm friends and church will change.


Your lukewarm friends and church are stealing your joy and your hope for a new America. Every time you get around them they downplay your fervor.

Revelation 12:10-12

10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Each of the Seven Churches in the book of Revelation are given the admonition to “overcome.” Ephesus in 2:7, Smyrna in 2:11, Pergamos in 2:17, Thyatira in 2:26, Sardis in 3:5, Philadelphia in 3:12, and Laodicea in 3:21. Also, the word “overcometh” is also used in Revelation 21:7. Those who “over-come” are in two separate categories. “Overcomers” are those in reference to salvation; as well as those who are “overcomers” by serving the Lord and not the flesh. According to the context, it may be applied to either salvation or service. In some places it is easy to distinguish between the two; and, in some, it is not.

For an example, let us look at Revelation 21:7.

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”

“Overcomer” here would be concerning salvation, as only a saved person is a son of God.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” - John 1:12
1 John 5:4,5.

“For whatsoever is born of God (This is the new birth in John 3:3.) overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (4) Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God.” (

Revelation 2:26,27, where “overcometh” is in reference to works and rewards, not salvation.

“And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end (of their life), to him will I give power over the nations:(26) And he shall rule them with a rod of iron…(27)”

This should get you started on your journey with Christ and to believe His promices.

Acts 7:57-60 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,

58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.

59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Yet they did not listen or incline their ears, but stiffened their necks in order not to listen or take correction.Jeremiah/17/23

The Bible shows us that we can pray for boldness. And, we should! Paul asked the church at Ephesus to pray for him for boldness.
Acts 4:29-31
Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.

Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”

After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.

This great man of God, said, “Praying always . . . for all saints. And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth BOLDLY, to make known the mystery of the gospel. For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak BOLDLY, as I ought to speak” (Eph. 6:18–20). And so, let us pray together.

Isaiah 40 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.

2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins.

3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
