The Power of Waiting.

" I'd been hoping to meet the company's Managing Director. I got up as early as possible to get to his office. After a brief exchange with the receptionist, I was instructed to wait in the waiting room until I was seen. I had to wait 7 hours to see the MD, but I waited because I knew that once I saw the MD, the pains of waiting would be gone "

All in our world is fast: fast food, fast internet, fast distribution, turbo vehicles, and so on.

Many of us have struggled to master the art of waiting due to our need to complete many tasks quickly and efficiently.

A great achiever's willingness to wait until the expected outcome is delivered is a crucial attribute.

As long as there is an expectation, waiting is never a waste of time.

The expectation is crucial because it is your expectation that will help you recognize when the item you've been waiting for arrives.

Are you anticipating something or are you just waiting?

When the result is delivered, the pain will be gone.

A pregnant woman pushes through pain before her baby is born, but once the baby is born, she forgets about the pains she endured.

Why don't you wait until your miracle arrives? Never give up.

The strength of those who wait on the Lord will be renewed. They will mount up with eagle-like wings, they will run without tiring, they will not faint while they walk.

Keep your eyes on the Lord. Don't rush anything. Your salvation is on its way.

Last week we talked about doing more. We talked about not settling for less when there is more. See here for last week's podcast. How do we progress to the next stage of our lives, the next level in our career, how do we move our relationships forward? How do we really do more when we carry certain weights that hinder us from making substantial progress?

Have you ever seen an athlete running while holding on to two bags of rice? I haven't seen any. This is because the bags' weight will hinder the athlete's speed and cause him to become weary along the way. What weight are you holding on to? Is it sin? Is it your past? Is it relationships that do not add value to you? You either carry the weight and remain at the spot or let go of the weight and make progress.

Do not permit the weight to hinder your progress. Cut it off intentionally and focus on moving forward.

There is more !!!

The only limitation a man has in life is that which he set for himself. 

As a man thinks in his heart so is he. 

If you believe this is all you can do, then that is all you will ever do!

Never settle for less. Don't be deceived that this is all you can ever be. Don't be deceived that you can not reach for more. Expand your gaze, don't limit yourself, don't limit your thoughts. Dream big and achieve big. Sharpen your skill, never underestimate them. Become more competent in what you do. 

Why settle for less when there is more?

...And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities. [Luke 19:17]

Faithfulness in the little things births great things. Do you want to build a mansion? Start by laying a block. Do you want to grow a forest? Start by planting a tree. Do you want to harvest multiple fruits? Start by planting a seed. Do you want to be rich? Start by investing the little you have. 

Many times, we just want to start big, and stay big. You don't have to be big to start, you only need to start to be big.

Learn to start with those little steps, accomplish them, celebrate the wins and move on to the next little step. 

It is the accumulation of the little steps that make up the big wins.

What says the time?

To everything under heaven, there is a time and a season. Every man has his preparation season and his manifestation season. Taking your preparation season for your manifestation season is equivalent to failure. Many are under unnecessary pressure because they have failed to understand the times and seasons they are in. Understand what time you are in, what vision you are meant to pursue now, what you are meant to steer clear of, what you are meant to embrace and what you are to refrain from embracing this season. There is a time to learn and a time to earn. Earning when you should learn, will make you learn when you ought to earn. 

What season are you in? What says the times?

Inside everyone, are diverse dimensions of grace, capabilities and virtues. No man has it all, therefore it is essential that we collaborate and share our God-given grace and virtues with others just as we theirs blesses us. Relationships are essential components of human engagements. God lifts and enthrones men through men. Walking as a loner in this world is dangerous. Many things will elude the man who stays alone.  The man by the pool of Bethesda would have secured his healing long ago if only he wasn't alone. It is not good for man to be alone, there are certain feats you cannot achieve alone. Getting the right relationship is important, not because of what we stand to gain only but also because of what we stand to give. Only a parasite takes without giving. It's dangerous to receive without impacting the other party. Secure a good relationship today, tend it, nurture it and give it your all. 

Many times, we fail to receive because we do not ask. We keep mute and think, well, He is my Father, He should know what I need. Truly, he does know what you need, however, He insists that you ask because it's really not about the request but about the time you spend with Him while asking. Stop trying to figure it out on your own, express your needs to Him, embedded in Him, is all you need for life. 

It takes a burning candle to ignite another candle.

Nothing beats self development. No matter how eager you are to impact your world, you must understand that men will never drink from an empty cup. As you impact others , ensure you are investing in YOU. Dont be carried away by the responsibilities , don’t be carried away by the duties you have to your generation, intentionally REFILL. You are your first and major investment plan.

The enemy of the next level of achievement and accomplishment is comfortability at the current level. Yes, I understand how difficult it was, to get to your current zone, how you burned the midnight candle, how you sacrificed your time, funds, and other resources, you didn't drop the ball, you deserve as many accolades as you can get. Congratulations, now that you are here, do you sit here? No, GO FORWARD!!! Do not get too comfortable. Strive to be more, because there is always more !!! 

Will it be a walk in the park? NO

Will it be worth it? Definitely

This year, do not get too comfortable.

As the year gradually culminates, it is expedient that we have a review of how the year was lived. What was achieved ? What challenges were experienced? What mistakes were made ? What victories were recorded ?

These assessments are necessary, they aid and equip us to better strategise for the coming year.
