This week I interview Ryan and Melody. Ryan and Melody met when they were children through their church, and started dating in their senior year of high school. They both chose not to go to college, and got married instead, in a simple wedding. They honeymooned at Disneyland and in Sarasota, before moving in together. They have since celebrated 10 years of marriage, and have four beautiful children together.

This week I interview Casey and Valerie Winters, hosts of the podcast "Hello from Elsewhere". Casey and Valerie met in university, and had a cosy first date consisting of a pillow fort and watching Disney's "The Lion King" during a blizzard. Seven months later, Casey proposed in a park on the mountain, which a handmade journal of his favourite memories of their relationship so far. They chose to have a small wedding in a temple. Their honeymoon mirrored their first date, as they got snowed in after the first day! Casey and Valerie currently have three children.

This week I interview Hanna and Lauric. Though they both currently live in South Africa, they have both moved around a lot throughout their lives, one of the many things they have in common. Having met at university, the two were friends for a while, before they started dating, by which point Hanna was already seeing her forever with Lauric. Lauric faced a moment of self doubt, feeling that Hanna was too good for him, but the couple stayed strong. Lauric decided to make a ring box for Hanna, and proposed to her in a garden shop. They decided to get married only a few weeks later, and had a “Things that fly” themed wedding.

Today I interview Hudson and Grace. They met as children through their parents' church. However, though Grace developed a crush on Hudson, Hudson needed more time to see her as a partner and not just his little brother's friend. Once in college, they started dating. Hudson popped the question in front of the castle at Disneyland, and later the two were married in a church, with Hudson's father as the officiant.

Today I interview Disha, who is a part of the Jain culture in India, and who is based in Mumbai. She takes us through how her and her husband met, thanks to their astrological charts and some patience. Disha then tells us how her now husband, Jay, proposed, and wedding planning with the help of their large families. Jay and Disha had a carnival themed sangeet party, wherein they combined the mehndi ceremony. Due to the nature of Indian weddings, Disha and Jay had multiple outfits they had to change into during their wedding day.

Today I interview Surila, who takes us through how she met her husband through the help of a matchmaker (known as a shadchan). After 6 dates, both Surila and Chaim, her now husband, agreed to get engaged, which led to the L'Chaim (engagement party). Surila then walks us through the different traditions and customs that relate to the wedding, including breaking a glass at the altar, the yichud (alone) room, and dancing.

Today I interview Rebecca on her story. She shares how her and her girlfriend met under unusual circumstances, and how they have faced living on opposite sides of the world, especially during the COVID-19 crisis, while still supporting each other mentally and emotionally. Rebecca also talks about coming out, and how important having a support system can be.

Today I interview Ben Vernier (who happens to be my partner) on our story! We've been together for over 8 years, having started off as high school sweethearts. We cover taking those first real "adult" steps like moving in together, and also look at going long distance. We've been engaged for close to 5 years, and moved to the other side of the world together, where we had our daughter.
