As parliamentary elections in Armenia kicked off, citizens living abroad have been barred from casting ballots, due to an earlier decision by the country's Central Electoral Commission.
Armenians maintain a strong presence around the world, with nearly two million living in Russia alone.
Another 650 thousand call the European Union their home, while roughly half a million live in the United States.
The total number of Armenians living abroad outweighs the population of the country itself.
