With the global economy struggling against the coronavirus pandemic, there are a few bright spots for bullish investors. The price of copper popped recently, driving optimism for the global economy moving forward. Copper is seeing the quickest rally it has had in years as the industrial metal is surging. China’s industrial output bounced back as the global economy is handling the consequences of Covid-19. Meanwhile, the US Commerce Department announced that retail sales for the world’s largest economy grew in June. However, weekly jobless claims are still coming in above 1 million, a sign that the long-term damages are beginning to mount.

Is anyone safe in the era of wrongthink? Conservatives are de-platformed, demonized, and shadowbanned. Those were the easy ones; now the mob is turning on its own. Wrongthink demands conformity and does not brook dissent. Is freedom of speech now only for the woke?

So what is behind the spike of shooting deaths and why has gun violence-plagued pockets of the 2.7 million-strong city for years? Some people might question if we are actually to the point of open conflict; they might accuse me of “doom-mongering”. Others may argue that conservatives are acting “passive” and that we will never take any action. These assumptions are common right now because such people do not understand how history progresses and how group psychology evolves.

Domestic war is not something pursued lightly, or haphazardly. The average person knows at least subconsciously that it’s better to seek resolution or to remain patient as events unfold. Conservatives aren’t stupid; we know that before any civil war there is first a culture war. And, we know that the cards are stacked against us and that if we act rashly in any way we will lose position in that culture war.

New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has insisted that spikes in New York crime are not related to police budget cuts but people needing to pay rent and feed their children. “Do we think this has to do with the fact that there’s record unemployment in the United States right now?” she said.

CNN host Don Lemon lectured actor Terry Crews on Monday night about the meaning of the Black Lives Matter movement, insisting during an intense conversation that it’s about police brutality and has nothing to do with Black-on-Black gun violence.

Crews has come under fire for recent tweets noting that he wants to “unite people” regardless of race, creed or ideology, saying he doesn’t want the Black Lives Matter [BLM] movement to morph into “Black Lives Better.”
