They are the co-founders of the radical political blog Popular Resistance! They are also two of the creators of the Embassy Protection Collective which spent the last month holding the Venezuelan Embassy in Washington D.C. for the government of Nicolas Maduro while the US was supporting a coup from Venezuela’s right wing.They were invited into the embassy and given keys before the US sent the legitimate ambassador home in order to replace him with an ambassador representing the coup backers. The intention was that the Embassy Protectors would hold the diplomatic building until Venezuela signed an agreement with another nation to watch the building, this is called a Protective Powers Agreement. However, before that could be done Zeese and Flowers found themselves besieged by an aggressive and highly-coordinated group of counter-protesters 24/7. The group blocked food from being delivered, had the building’s electricity and water turned off, threatened and assaulted the peace activists, broke into the building, and vandalized the property without any interference from the police.
