RT10 – Schizophrenia, Psychosis and The Perception of Reality – “I knew they lived in my head, I knew they weren’t real, but they were there” – Webster Bryans
In today’s episode Webster Bryans and Noora Hussain join me to discuss the all too often (incorrectly) taboo subject of schizophrenia and psychosis. At the age of 17 Webster started hearing voices of two people who were not physically there with him, and this continued for an extended period of time. From being irresponsibly misdiagnosed by his first doctor to then being prescribed extremely powerful medication and then going through therapy, Webster shares his story from the conversations that the two voices would have about him, to how they got in the way of living a “normal” life.
As always – this is a REAL story, told first hand by the person who went through it. I hope you enjoy this one guys and girls – and hopefully you will take something way from it to help someone you know who may be going through mental health issues of their own.
