Josh spent most of his teenage life working in the hospitality industry, working his way up from the bottom to managing well known restaurant and bar chains. All of this responsibility at such a young age gave him a real insight into just how challenging such work can be, and 4 years ago he took a risk by opening up his own sandwich bar called “Carved Meat” in Bexleyheath, Kent.

Fast forward 4 years, endless hours of hard work, and time away from family, Carved Meat has become one of the most in-demand restaurants for gourmet burgers, epic buffalo wings and smoked meat in the south east! Josh recently opened the second restaurant in the Carved chain called Carved Dive, in Bromley.

In this episode we talk about the sacrifices he’s made as a business owner, his past job history which moulded him into who he is today, and how a business needs a TEAM who buys into its vision…not just “staff”.

This week Stephanie Elswood (otherwise known as @healthchefsteph on social media platforms) took some time out of her busy schedule to stop by the show and talk about her life as a dancer, social media influencer, vegan and young entrepreneur.

Steph has matured incredibly fast for her age as a result of her past experience with bulimia, and the tough battle to overcome it. Since then she has gone on to grow in confidence and now hosts “Stay Sassy” events where she leads a dance class for women to help them build their self confidence. We delve into the details of these events and how they work, so if this is something which interests you make sure you tune in to this episode!

With so many social media influencers being put on a pedestal and viewed as “uncontactable” in this day in age, Steph prides herself in breaking down this stereotype and talks to us about her family life, and what life as a social media influencer actually involves – the hard work that goes into this career choice which most have not actually intentionally set out to have but rather naturally stepped into.

In today’s episode Webster Bryans and Noora Hussain join me to discuss the all too often (incorrectly) taboo subject of schizophrenia and psychosis. At the age of 17 Webster started hearing voices of two people who were not physically there with him, and this continued for an extended period of time. From being irresponsibly misdiagnosed by his first doctor to then being prescribed extremely powerful medication and then going through therapy, Webster shares his story from the conversations that the two voices would have about him, to how they got in the way of living a “normal” life.

We discuss the mentality he developed when he made friends after he moved out and how he ended up being involved in a life changing incident with a rival gang.
