The H.A.T. of Maturity James 4:6-10 #Nightlight #RTTBROS The acronym H.A.T. from biblical principles!
H - Humility: In the Bible, humility is often praised as a virtue. Proverbs 22:4 says, "4 By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.." This verse suggests that being humble and recognizing our own limitations is an important part of our relationship with God. Jesus himself demonstrated humility when he washed his disciples' feet, showing that even the Son of God was willing to serve others.
A - Accountability: The Bible also emphasizes the importance of accountability. In James 5:16, we're told to 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much ." This verse suggests that we need to be accountable to one another, admitting our mistakes and seeking forgiveness. Proverbs 27:17 also says, "Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend." This verse suggests that we need other people in our lives to hold us accountable and help us grow.
T - Teachability: Finally, the Bible encourages us to be teachable. Proverbs 1:5 says, "5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:." This verse suggests that we should always be open to learning and growing, seeking out wisdom and guidance from others. Jesus himself was a great teacher, and he often used parables and stories to help his followers understand important truths.
