Although neither title can be found anywhere in the New Testament, Jesus is often referred to as the “Rose of Sharon,” and the “Lily of the Valley,” the rose being the most perfect and fragrant of flowers, and the lily perfectly characterising His purity and humility. Carol Sampson recorded this beautiful song with us at St Cecilia’s in Kidderminster.

The song features on CD4 of our Reawakenings Album. I thought you would also appreciate hearing some of the other tracks that follow on after Carol’s song. The first one is called ‘My Presence will go with you,” in which I am playing a movement from a recorder sonata Dad wrote. Your desire to bear significant witness

Since you can only receive what you are given from on high, (John 3:27) move beyond all obsession for recognition

and make full use of what He has already given you.

Beware your strengths as well as your weaknesses: they are part of the perils of your calling, but settle for nothing less

than all He has in mind for you. There may be whole new giftings that He wants to develop and envelop you in.
