Pretty well everything in our spiritual lives revolves around being willing to yield ourselves to the Lord, and to say 'Yes' to whatever He asks of us - even as Mary did at the Annunciation. In the heat of difficult circumstances, it is easy to suppose that that excuses us from having to do that. It doesn't - unless the alternative is to yield to something that we should actually be actively resisting. May the Lord make our hearts flexible, willing and deeply surrendered - but also alert to discern what and who we should yield to.
Even with Judas present in the room, John was still able to experience intimacy with Jesus at the Last Supper. May we be able to do so too during our tough times.
