My Father in Heaven

Linda Entwistle was inspired by Jesus' own words when she wrote this

refreshingly different rendering of the prayer everyone refers to as the

'Lord's Prayer.' May it speak to our hearts. The music is an improvisation led by Sally Mowbray.

While he was teaching in a primary school in Sussex, Dad pioneered the use of the tape recorder in the classroom for educational purposes. He wrote the seminal book on the subject, having won both the British and the World Amateur Recording Championships. He entered the contest with two really special productions in 1958 and 1959 with his class of primary school children. The first was called Life in a Medieval Town, and the second Journey So Long. This latter one is all about his class setting off to visit the imaginary country of Beldavia in the Alps.

Colin kindly transferred the reel-to-reel tape recording to CD in time to make it available at Dad’s funeral, and Sally has now made it available to all as a soundcloud. Enjoy these 16 minutes of sheer delight!

I had long wanted to write a song about verses that mean a lot to me from Job 14:7-9, how the Lord loves to revive and restore the roots of that which has suffered loss pruning or and other froms of setback.
