There is power in sharing the story of how Jesus turns our lives around; and after a long sabbatical, I wanted to start season 2 of the podcast by sharing my testimony. It's the longest episode I've recorded to date and it's been a complete labor of love to record and edit this episode but I pray that you find it to be a blessing, whether parts of my story resonate with you, shock you or make you laugh...it's all for God's glory.

When I began this journey in podcasting, I knew that the door was wide open as I walked through and launched this new venture and in typical Holly fashion I was more excited, than nervous to jump in headfirst. After the frustration with technology subsided and the tears of worry and anxiety dried, I became more comfortable with the process and my voice. After 5 months of releasing weekly episodes, it became apparent that I now had the basics of production down, but it was time to fine-tune. 

In this episode, I discuss the "doors" in our lives that we each face; whether we are standing there banging on the door knocker or gliding through effortlessly. When the podcasting door closes....it's only temporarily but take a listen to what happens when the door opens back up. *wink, wink*

It was a hard sell. I realize that but I could visualize it in my head and I just knew, it would look amazing if we painted the master bathroom walls, black. Trying to convince Adam, well that was another story.

I don't like to stereotype but typically, we fall into one of two categories. Builders; are the people that implement a plan, and dreamers, those of us who see the vision. I like to call these people, idea factories. Our minds race a mile a minute with all the wonderful things we could do or create and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming for the rest of the world. We are visionaries and innovators but we tend to shelter that creativity for fear of failure or a lack of implementation. This week I upgraded to a new phone and as I've grown older, I've noticed how I dread the process, rather than look forward to it.

Moving all my contacts, music, apps, and photos over to a new phone is something I've begun to have a great distaste for. First-world problems, I know, but as I thought more about this I realized that God is moving many women to "upgrade" areas in their lives. It's always interesting how a word from Heaven can come in the form of moving from 64GB to 128GB phone, but God is moving women into open, spacious places. Is your battery life depleted? Do you have a smashed exterior or broken case? God says it's time for you to upgrade to something new!

There are 5 weeks left until Christmas, and this year many people are thinking of the holidays even earlier than usual. It may have something to do with the pandemic or that we are just looking for hope now more than ever, but regardless of why, we are all looking at our list of loved ones to buy for. 

Over the past year, God has been moving my heart into the space of business but specifically, female creatives in business. Creatives are some of the most talented and passionate people and yet undermine the value of their products. As we inch closer to the holidays, it was on my heart to encourage and uplift those in this industry, to press on and pursue what God has called them to; while informing consumers about the meaning of investing in small business this Christmas. Supporting your local economy and pursuing creativity by way of buying from makers, dreamers, and creators is more than meaningful, for many it is what they depend on. This Christmas, we have the choice to buy from big box stores or familiar faces, my hope is we invest wisely.

Did you know, that the average person has about 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts per day? 95% of those are exactly the same repetitive thoughts as the day before, and about 80% of them are negative. That's a sobering thought!

Our mind is a functioning organ that powers us throughout the day, yet we often don't even realize how it's working or what it's thinking. We set it to "auto-pilot" and let it coast, only to realize that we ended up in Antarctica instead of Aruba. Although our minds are powerful, they often can be distracted and may even lead us astray to a mismanaged mindset. I believe that women are determined, productive, and passionate but sometimes we can get hung up on the important things that God is leading us to because of the fear and doubt we hold. Many women carry dreams and visions of things they'd like to do, but ultimately never fulfill them because of the fear, which leads us to create a heaping pile of excuses to not live out the gifts and calling that is YOURS to pursue!
