Rule The Roost Podcast

In this full breakdown of PestWorld Orlando, we cover what made this year’s show stand out, including the debut of our ozone product, the growing interest in the flock-free system, and the surge of international companies wanting simple, effective bird control solutions.

We talk visuals, consequences, netting struggles, ShockStick 2.0, and the real-world stories behind installs, clients, and product development. Plus: bowling disasters, buffet napkin marketing, and the fun of reconnecting with industry friends.

A packed, informative episode for anyone who works in bird control or pest management — or anyone curious about how Flock Free continues to innovate.

In this episode of the Rule the Roost Podcast, Paul and Maria take you inside the real world of commercial bird control. They break down the evolution of the Hoot, Tweedzilla, and Moby hazers, explain the difference between liquid products, and share the most common reasons equipment fails in the field. You will also hear rooftop stories from installations across the country, including the unforgettable day Paul found a seahorse on a warehouse roof in Neptune. This episode blends industry insight with real field experience and is a must listen for anyone working in bird control, facilities, or commercial maintenance.

Why did the chicken cross the road, roll in mud, and cross back? Because he was a dirty double-crosser! 😆

We’re back in the Freehold studio for another episode of the Rule the Roost podcast by Flock Free—where bird control meets brains, laughs, and a little bit of stickiness.

This week, we’re diving into our favorite invisible weapon: Surface ProTac. It’s clear, it’s tacky, it’s self-cleaning, and it keeps birds off your ledges, mailboxes, and balconies—without bothering people or hurting wildlife. 💪🐦

✅ Easy to apply ✅ Rain-activated self-cleaning ✅ UV-enhanced for visual deterrence ✅ PETA-friendly & George-tested (yes, really)

Whether you're a homeowner or a pest control pro, this one-two punch of UV paint + Surface ProTac + tank mix spray is your new go-to for smart, humane bird control.

🎧 Tune in now to hear how we make surfaces sticky (but not icky), why birds hate it, and how George survived the ultimate stick test.

Ever wonder why some people swear bird sprays don’t work — while others say they’re a game changer?
In this episode, Tom puts himself in the hot seat while Erica fires off real questions from Amazon customers. From geese tearing up lawns to swallows nesting in siding, they break down what really works, why consistency matters, and how “constant pressure” keeps birds moving — humanely.

💡 You’ll also learn:
 • The #1 mistake homeowners make with bird control
 • Why geese love short grass
 • How reflective stickers and sprays actually train birds
 • When it’s time to call a pro

In the very first episode of Rule the Roost, Tom from Flock Free sits down with Nico from Petslandia to talk about how two people who never expected to work in bird control ended up innovating the industry.

They cover everything from stainless steel, low-profile spikes designed for historic buildings in Italy, to UV paint and surface coatings that make bird control safer, smarter, and nearly invisible. The conversation dives into collaboration, innovation, and how pest control pros can create recurring revenue by thinking differently.
