This week on the podcast, Meghan is solo and talks about the New Year, making resolutions, and what it takes to make a lasting transformation. May you be bodacious enough to invent yourself this year. Happy New Year, Fairborn!
On the podcast this week Rob and Meghan interview Pam Gayheart. First and foremost she is a wonderful human being and an incredible servant within this community. One might say that she absolutely LOVES Fairborn and does whatever she can to make this community a better place for everyone.
Pam is the Director of Public Relations and Grants for the Fairborn City Schools, and has seen many changes during her 20+ years. Rob and Meghan discuss with her the changes she has experienced, the diversity of our community, the new schools, and much more. We hope you enjoy the conversation and get excited for the future of our school system and our community. We all are Skyhawks and need to carry around that Skyhawk Pride!
On the podcast this week, Meghan was joined by guest co-host Corey Gayheart and podcast guest Allie Roberts-Brazie, Fairborn Third Grade Teacher and High School Cross Country Coach. It was a monumental podcast for Corey as he cleared off his podcast bucket list, and Allie was an excellent guest willing to share some of the spotlight.
Meghan and Corey discussed life as a teacher and coach with Allie, what it was like growing up in Fairborn and then becoming a Fairborn teacher, but most of all, the difficulty of losing an athlete and guiding a team through the process of grief and loss all the while grieving herself. Allie is an incredible human and has done some amazing things for this community, and herself as a way to process everything she has experienced. We promise this episode is worth your time.

We hope you enjoy the conversation with Paul; he is a great man, who will continue to do incredible things for others and this community.

On the podcast this week Rob and Meghan sat down with Terry Blakley, Realtor and Owner of The Blakley Branch, and lifelong Fairborn resident. He talked about his love for this community, why he kept his business in Fairborn, his unique marketing approach, and what you can do if you are looking to buy or sell your home in the near future.
We will leave you with this quote from Terry:
"Fairborn has a small town vibe. Obviously things to do, Definitely a place where we feel comfortable. There's bigger cities that, in my opinion, don't have the same vibe. I like when you can go to the grocery and see lots of people you know; all the hometown things that you guys do around the community, and the festivals. It definitely feels more family than a lot of the bigger towns." - Terry Blakley

"Greene County Children Services must respond to more than 1,200 reports of possible child abuse, neglect, or dependency each year. Many of these children have to relive their traumas as they tell their painful stories to those who will and need to listen. It’s for the worst of these cases that Michael's House exists."
On the podcast this week, Meghan sat down with Amy Ferguson, Manager of Michael's House, to discuss the Child Advocacy Center's work for the children in Fairborn and Greene County.
With October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, this conversation was even more poignant as Amy shared both the heartfelt work and the heartbreaking work that goes into what the staff at Michael's House deal with. We encourage you to take the time to listen to the story of Michae's House and learn how you can help the center and the kids of Greene County.
(TW: We do talk about some sensitive topics related to abuse)

On the podcast this week, Rob and Meghan talked with Cate Brinnon, owner of Kai Yoga in Downtown Fairborn. Cate has a great story that took her from Urbana, Ohio, to Washington, DC, and now to a second-floor studio where she teaches yoga to a community of people she adores.
Her story is filled with political figures, Hollywood Actors, the Dean of Colleges, and, yes, the occasional ordinary person on the street. What is most impressive about Cate is not the spectacular nature that has filled her life; it is her love, passion, and willingness to do what is good, just, and right in this world. We hope you enjoy the conversation with Cate as much as we did.
