1880 Mike Megher was elected mayor of cowtown Caldwell, Kansas, the last in my series of cowtowns. A few year earlier he was the former town marshal of Wichita in its' hay-day. One man, tried to kill him, he failed and died instead. Mike would go to the next and last of the large cow-towns. Trouble would follow.
