True Stories of the Old West

This story is just under ten minutes. It is about corruption in City Hall and the aftermath of the actions of Mr. Mayor. This story gets into Arthur Moore King, the last deputy to Wyatt Earp. If you wish the version with images can be found on YouTube

It is all factual, no legend here, just the facts, just the facts. I will not this weekend, you all have a nice thanksgiving time.

1905 Captain Auble was appointment temporary Chief of the Los Angeles Police department. His position would last into 1906 when an election was held. A new mayor was elected and he appointment someone to take the position. Auble was reduced this is old position as Captain one of six.

The 10.39 minute story is about one of the most most beloved Chief in LA history and a man, Carl Sutherland, who happened to be Wyatt Earps nephew by marriage. It's all true, no legend here, just the historical truth.

Gus was a former US Deputy Marshall. He meant a women, fail in love, married her, quite is job as a frontier lawman, purchased some land and became a farmer. He was a straight forward Marshall, and a very well liked and respected man. Yet his past as a Marshall was not appreciated by some. This is the story of Gus Bobbitt and and his dead as well as the fallout.

Assistant Curator of the Oklahoma Territorial Museum, Michael Williams, and I sat down, as we often do, and talked of western history. This time we turned on the microphone for the main topic it was about the infamous Jesse James and the aftermath of his death that went on for years. We venture off then come back thus other subjects were covered.

I left a mistake or two for they were corrected within this 47 minute podcast. Sit back and enjoy the truth of Jesse James death and its aftermath. All fact, no legend.

Arthur at a young age ventured from this parents farm and headed to the twin territories of what is now Oklahoma. Unable to find work, he lived under the stars in Indian Territory. He survived by selling liquor to the natives. Soon the United States Marshals found out and came after him.

Arthur's life was drastically changed - for ever. Listen and learn of this life as a policeman, and as a bounty hunter in the early Twentieth Century. 

Luke was many things in his life, the most famous was his friendship with Bat Masterson, Wyatt Earp and many other famous lawmen and gunslingers. He learned to read and write, dress like a dandy and became a professional gambler. He was co-owner of the Long Branch Saloon.

In conversation with Assistant Curator Micheal Williams of the Oklahoma Territorial Museum with the topic of the THE LAST DEPUTY, a book written in novel form, based on actual events about Arthur Moore King, and later Wyatt Earp both working for the Los Angeles Police Force as Bounty Hunters. 

1880 Mike Megher was elected mayor of cowtown Caldwell, Kansas, the last in my series of cowtowns. A few year earlier he was the former town marshal of Wichita in its' hay-day. One man, tried to kill him, he failed and died instead. Mike would go to the next and last of the large cow-towns. Trouble would follow. In 20 minutes you will learn of the trouble in Caldwell, the how's and why's and understand the title of this cast. The story is based on true events.
