In Matthew 22:37, Jesus tells us to love God with all of our heart, soul, and mind. Specifically, what does it mean to love God with all of your mind? Sometimes we attempt to divorce our feelings from our faith, as though our desires for pleasure and satisfaction are evil. The truth is that God created men and women with needs that were designed to be satisfied by Him. Sin is ultimately humanity's attempt to look for satisfaction in the things of this world instead of the things of God. In John 6:25-35, we find that Christ alone can fulfill our desires, transform our tastes, and guarantee our satisfaction.
We are celebrating Global Running Day on the podcast with an intense look at God's economy. Acts 20:35 reminds us that, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." This concept is radical and countercultural to the teachings of the world's economy but extremely vital for finishing well in this life. In this episode, we will examine how, in God's economy, you will never have less of anything by giving......you will always have more.
God's people are not only a forgiven people but also a forgiving people. Jesus highlights this concept when he models and teaches the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:11-12. In this episode, we examine the topic of forgiveness and how those that desire to finish well likewise desire to forgive well.
In 2 Timothy 2:5, the apostle Paul reminds us that "Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor's crown except by competing according to the rules." So what are the rules of this race called life? How can we make sure that we do not get lured into any false shortcuts that Satan tries to tempt us with? In this episode, we attempt to dive into these and other questions regarding the importance of the commands of Christ.
