Mostly because this weather has been absolutely COOKING us. ☀️

After spending the week trying to survive the heat, we still had enough energy left for a debate — and somehow ended up talking about one of the biggest creators on the planet.

Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson has built an entertainment empire around enormous challenges, ridiculous amounts of money and acts of generosity watched by hundreds of millions.

But when helping people becomes content… where does generosity end and exploitation begin?

S + J get into the ethics behind the MrBeast machine: philanthropy as entertainment, the power imbalance between creator and participant, consent, wealth, spectacle and whether changing someone’s life makes the way their hardship is presented automatically okay.

Does the good outweigh the uncomfortable parts?

Or has MrBeast simply perfected the ability to turn human need into entertainment?
