Bob Warnock has always been a forerunner of long term care pharmacy.  He is a pillar of ASCP. Not only did he own and operate a LTC pharmacy, he sold it and worked for Omnicare as it become the market leader.  He then teamed up with the largest nursing home chain and established one the first large scale pharmacies using onsite dispensing, only to follow that up with running pharmacies for one of the most respected older adult health care groups in the South. An active member for decades, Bob's story if full of insight for people wanted to understand how to attack and innovate in pharmacy.  Bob also shared and apartment with Buddy Carter, one of the pharmacist in Congress!  Tickle us... Way back in 1969, a forward thinking, innovative group of pharmacists convened together in a new association called ASCP. Identifying as pharmacists who were "consulted" by these shiny, new care centers called nursing homes, they started an industry and a service centered around managing medications - how to best package, deliver, start, stop and evalaute medications in an effort to keep people safe and healthy. This celebrated association of consultant pharmacists and long term care pharmacies, ASCP, is 56 years old today!

It's Inauguration week and who better to lay down the gauntlet of politics than Jim Flood and Scott Douglas from Crowell and Moring, a DC based lobbying firm.
