Dr. Ronan Hennessy of the Ryan Institute NUI Galway, chats with Galway Bay FM's Keith Finnegan about Digital Mapping and the discovery of fresh water rivers beneath the Atlantic Sea. Ronan is the Senior Technician in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) at the Ryan Institute. Geographical Information System refers to both the software and methodologies used for geospatial analysis and visualisation. It is defined as a computer system designed for capturing, storing, analysing and outputting spatial data.
