“How Do I Honor God with My Technology?”

The psalmist says, "The EARTH is the Lord's and the fullness thereof...", which tells us that all of creation belongs to the Creator. We often think of creation as including trees, mountains, oceans, plant life, humans and the animal kingdom. While this is true, Scripture gives us a broader view of creation. It is definitely those things just listed, but it is so much more. Movies, music, iPhones, the Internet, Instagram, and anything else you encounter on a daily basis was placed in your path by the sovereign Creator. The earth belongs to God; therefore, it is good. Technology is a good gift from God, but it becomes something less than honoring when it gets in the hands of sinners. This class will help you appreciate the good gift of technology, and also help you deal with the temptations that often accompany it. Come join us as we look at technology and temptation.

In the gospels, Jesus gives us many invitations-- come and I will give you rest... if anyone thirsts, come to me and drink... Abide in me and I in you. The world also invited us to attractive and exciting pursuits, many aimed especially at us as ladies. What are we to do with all these options? Are the invitations of Jesus and the world always against each other? What if I pick the wrong one? How do we live life to the fullest while following Jesus and living in the world? We will explore God's word, examine our hearts, and try to get super practical in our obedience to Jesus in everyday life.

“How do I really know Jesus?” “I know I am a Christian but why don’t I experience much peace or growth?” “What role does discipline have in the Christian life?” “What can I actually do to grow in my faith and experience more peace in my life?” “Reading my Bible and praying are things I know I should do but I just don’t get much out of them, why?” If you are feeling stuck in your Christian growth and spiritually dry, or you just want to rediscover the beauty of God’s Word, prayer and Christian fellowship then come join us as we look at how these habits of the Christian life can become the channel of our peace and the water for our spiritual growth.
