When Markus Homm started going to his first House parties, the likes of Beatport and Myspace hadn’t even been thought of. Born in 1980, Marcus was 15 years old when he became infected with electro music and subse- quently got his hands on a turntable. He then began to seek out the latest releases at the record store and also by asking local DJ’s the identity of the tracks that had kept him dancing late into the night. Markus Homm’s music is in a constant state of development, always searching for, and finding the most compelling groove. This diverse musical direction has led Homm & Popoviciu to successful releases with various labels, including their home label Highgrade Records, and Diynamic Music.

As a Producer and DJ he moves consistently forward and continues his playful exploration of the tensions between music and body, while working on his own unique and very special musical success story.

Mario was born in Hanover in 1985 and started djing at the age of 15. After his first successful gigs in his hometown he was sure that electronic music was going to be a permanent fixture in his life. When he turned 19 and with this mindset, he started working as a trainee at a local record shop ("Street Sounds") in order to expand his musical knowledge. In 2013 his focus was more on originals - releases on Gorge's label Katchuli, the new berlin-based label WellDone! and Colourful Recordings were following. But for sure he was still remixing as well - For labels like Peppermint Jam, Steyoyoke, Cyclic, Simple As That, Telekollegen and Bubbles On The Air just to name a few! Having finally broken through into the public conscious thanks to productions like Reminisce on Get Physical, Feelings on Mobilee and Got To Live on OFF as well as others on labels like Noir and Defected, Tapesh has become very much in demand around the world, taking his flamboyant DJ sets to clubs like Cocoon in Frankfurt, Warung in Brazil and Studio 80 in the Netherlands. With multi-cultural roots informed by everything from house to breakdance across scenes in UK, US and Europe, Tapesh has fomented a very unique DJ style that takes in plenty of sounds and knits them together into one grater whole. Loco Dice, Jamie Jones, DJ T and Anja Schneider, for example, are all fans of that special ‘Tapesh feeling’, and that same feeling is what makes the man’s music so well loved.

Re:Fresh 97: KIA

Kia grew up in the Rhein-Main area in Hessen,Germany. At a very young age she was already interested in going out and had her first contact with electronic music in different clubs in Frankfurt. It didn`t take long for her to realize that it wouldn`t be enough to just listen or dance to this sound. Kia decided to do something and become one of the unfortunately very few Djanes.

Her style is to be situated somewhere between House and Techno. To her the most important is the good selection of tracks in her set. She loves to look for records in second hand shops, record stores or in the internet for hours. In her environment she had great support from Vera and Dorian Paic (Robert Johnson). During that time Kia could learn a lot and managed to develop her own style.

Sometimes all it takes is a push.

.... the voice of Kerri Chandler fades in. "You can't lie to house music".

Thats all what it took for a young Christian Nielsen to fall deeply in love with the (at the time) unknown ''4 to the floor''. It didn't take long before his brand new DJ bag was filled with Kerri, Jimpster, Mr. V, Master At Work, Larry Heard, Moodymann, Frankie Knuckles and many more.

All that was left was another push. This time, the push came from within. With his new Macbook, Christian started his journey that has now resulted into where he is today.

_____

After years of producing under several different names, the danish producer has now come to a point in his career to take a stand. No more pseudonyms, no more gimmicks - just himself.

Christian Nielsen.......
