According to Merriam-Webster.com, Body Image is defined as: a subjective picture of one's own physical appearance established both by self observation and by nothing the reactions of others. What? 

Did you catch how body image is impressed upon us by others? When did we stop owning our perspective for what our body image should look like? 

Negative body image starts at a very young age that continues into adulthood and eventually takes over a greater portion of our lives. It happens to in many different ways but the result of negativity is generally the same for most.
