Faith is trust that all is working out in our favour even when it feels challenging. Even when we are experiencing discomfort, trials, and we cannot see evidence or proof it will get better, or even how it will, faith is the trust that keeps us going.
Discomfort is the way. We are conditioned to avoid discomfort, it serves our consumerist society to keep us empty and consuming, distracted and seeking comfort externally.
Faith strengthens our ability to move into, and therefore through discomfort to the peace, self-trust, wholeness on the other side.
Sportsman mastered their sport through discomfort, discipline, devotion, consistency and showing up in the rain even when it hurt. They had faith in themselves, and that faith is rooted in God.
It is this same consistency, discipline, devotion and commitment that leads to our mastery of ourselves. And leaning into discomfort is the path home. Faith heartens our journey through this discomfort, and gives us the courage to keep going.
