Past paperwork bears fruit, as the Brightsteel Fraternal Order of Detectives arrive to give former High Guard officers Mikhail and Aaron a chance to make their detective gig official — as sidekicks — if they perform well in solving a high-profile murder case. This would probably go better if Aaron weren’t both a witness to said murder and dead set on revenge!
