ONE SHOT WITH ED SHEERAN: Reviewed!

It’s another edition of the cccappraisalhour.show show! Season 7 episode 1. 

And boy does Season 7 begin with a bang! Not quite Chandler-just-proposed levels but still. For those of you who are not new to this but TRUE TO THIS (yep we’re still doing all the stuff, as per) we are carrying on how we left off. Season 6 was the first win (in a while, sources tell me) for Christopher and that means he has officially won the prize. That’s right. THE PRIZE. Only took us six seasons of our podcast (and 40 seasons plus of watching SNL) to create a prize but here it is, in all its glory:

The winner of each season gets to write a monologue that the other *has* to read out at the start of the new season.

How very Michael Che and Colin Jost of us, eh? Glad we came up with it just in time for me to lose and bear the brunt of it. *rolling eyes emoji* well anyhoo, it dominates the cold open so don’t skip it. And then we’ll get to the thirty second game ok and everything is kosher ok, relax!

“Christopher - Firstly I want to congratulate you on your Season 6 Win. You navigated some questionable pitches as well as a HOST of specials over the festive period. But you stuck with it and were rewarded with your first win since season one. 

While I apologise for pitching a magazine, you now have a new love for the art. You entered the world of K pop demon hunters, had your first dose of peep show and hung out with some easy riders. You provided me with a glimpse of what happens when you combine heist and magic, what happens when the whole world becomes aliens (we think) and made me fall in love with scrubs again. We managed all of this without touching on the old boring Norm macdonald, or American late night, or any of that stuff I’m WAY TOO OBSESSED with. 

Needless to say. The friendship is still here. So. . .with that said. . . let’s start the show.”

Special FAVE MOMENT FROM THE POD RECORD note for VIP read-the-whole-show-notes-members only: When Christopher balked at the idea of me not understanding what “this pub pours a good pint” means. Listen, I guess I’m just not an alcoholic beverage connoisseur like that. Some liquid in a glass seems to be doable at all the spots, no? Good think I don’t review pubs like @brew.ding I suppose.
