This week our psychological profile is of Gerard Schaefer, a self-confessed serial killer who claims to have murdered up to thirty women, though he was only sent to prison for the 1972 murders of two teenagers - Susan Place, aged 17 and Georgia Jessup, aged 16.
Both of them had been tortured before being murdered and buried at Hutchinson Island, Florida. At the times of the murders, Schaefer was a Floridian Deputy Sheriff and was previously a police officer.
