Aria Sa’id joins us from San Francisco from the heart of the Tenderloin District. She runs a nonprofit called The Transgender District which is focused on creating safe spaces for trans people, supporting economic advancement, and providing opportunities for leadership development and community. After taking a bus from Portland with only a few dollars in her pocket, she worked with several other co-founders to build a nonprofit that is now backed by the mayor of the city as they seek to keep key elements of this historic neighborhood.
