Understanding the difference between process and end goals or routines can help you accelerate your results exponentially.

End Goals:

  • Definition: End goals refer to the ultimate outcomes or achievements that a person aims to reach. They are the final objectives, the ‘destination’ you aim to arrive at after a certain period.
  • Characteristics:
    • Outcome-Oriented: They focus on the final result, such as winning a race, getting a job, or graduating with honours.
    • Long-Term Perspective: End goals often take longer to achieve and are set in the future.
    • Motivational: They provide a clear target to aim for, which can be motivating.


      • Process Goals:

      • Definition: Process goals, on the other hand, are about the steps you take to reach your end goals. They focus on the actions and behaviours that you can control and manage on a daily basis.
      • Characteristics:
        • Action-Oriented: These goals are about the ‘journey’, focusing on the behaviours and strategies you adopt.
        • Ongoing: They are often set for shorter periods and can be repetitive or ongoing.
        • Controllable: You have more direct control over process goals, as they are about your actions and efforts.
