I had six babies in twelve years. I was throwing dirty diapers out the door under the carport. The laundry was never folded. The chickens were eating my mustard greens. My dad had just been diagnosed with a terminal disease. And somewhere in the middle of all of that... I desperately wanted to write my own comeback story in my health.
And I had every excuse in the world not to.
In this episode I get brutally honest about the real excuses I fought for the hardest in my health journey. The ones that felt completely reasonable and completely true. I was too exhausted to think about food. The kids were the priority. So I ate the crusts of their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and the soggy goldfish crackers at the bottom of the bowl and told myself that was motherhood.
I also share the moment I left a perfectly full margarita on the table at girls night nine years ago and never looked back... and the one question that changed everything.
Because here is what I know after thirteen years of coaching women through their health comebacks. When you repeat your excuses you fight for them. And if you keep fighting for your excuses you will not fight for your goals and your dreams.
Your excuses are not disqualifications. They are invitations. The most powerful why you have is probably hiding inside the excuse you have been fighting for the hardest.
Topics covered: health excuses, motivation for weight loss, women's wellness podcast, healthy lifestyle for moms, comeback mindset, sober curiosity, health coach, faith and health, overwhelmed moms, healthy habits, everyday comeback, mindset for moms, personal growth for women, building healthy habits, Leslie Begin
