Birth control, Emergency contraception, and Abortions are hot-button topics that should be mandatory discussions in a relationship. Everyone knows that Birth control is designed to prevent pregnancy, but Birth control methods work in a number of different ways. To be clear, “the morning after pill” or “Plan B” falls under the category of Emergency contraception and is NOT a form of birth control…. or at least it shouldn’t be viewed/used as such. So if you are sexually active or planning to be, don’t use Emergency contraception as your only protection against pregnancy.
