Of any player in NBA history, none have had the journey quite like Gilbert Arenas. A connection to the game and love of competition started early, but he was largely slept on. He waited for his opportunity, and at every level, when he got his moment, he took over. When Agent Zero was at his peak with the Wizards, few players on the planet could touch his game. Then when injuries and controversies added up, Gilbert survived, but his playing days eventually wound down.

Thanks to his personality and high IQ, Gilbert has found his voice and second chapter in the new sports media space. Meanwhile, his son Alijah has emerged as an elite level player that cannot be denied. As a player, Gilbert’s game was spectacular. As a parent, he is both passing on that knowledge but also enjoying watching his kids embrace the game on their own.
