This week I talk to Ron Philpot the Technical Director of Crawley Swimming Club as well as a Tutor and Mentor for the Institute of Swimming. Ron has over 40yrs of swim coaching experience and has coached many Olympic athletes as well as the first swimmer to ever go sub 50 seconds for the 100 freestyle. Ron answers the question what is a coach?, along with talking about swim coaching philosophies and the need for coaches continued education no matter what level they may be.  Ron also tells us about how he has survived in the coaching world by moving with the times and learning from other coaches within the industry.
