This week I speak to Edward Caruana Dingli the Team Lead on Malta Paralympic Swimming and Swim Coach at Aqua Academy Exiles. Malta as a country has less than 1000 active swimmers so creating opportunities to swim can be a challenge but not unachievable by any means! We discuss elite swimming in Malta and how the new Malta Paralympic committee is helping to create opportunities for disabled athletes to participate in sport as well as swimming. We also talk about the recent Tokyo Paralympic Games and how Malta representation in swimming at the games has helped grow interest for the sport for disabled children and how aquatics clubs like Exiles have been doing their bit to support para swimming in such a small country. Remember to join the LoveSwimming Facebook group to continue the conversation.
