The question of parenting time comes up relating to the children's school schedule. The parenting time schedule is geared toward the academic year. Can you modify parenting time to suit school hours? When we approach summer, we're having 12 weeks of time when the children are not in school. In a divorce with children, a custody case will result in a visitation schedule. There will be special provisions for summertime. Your summertime parenting time schedule is going to affect your everyday schedule. Your children may not be in school but you still have to work in summer regardless. The court will come out with a provision granting you six weeks for you and six weeks for your co-parent. It seems fair but it may not work for you. It may not work for your co-parent. It's going to affect your day-to-day things. And, you still go to work. You still need to look at blocks of days for holidays. You need to negotiate these blocks of days for holidays. There's been quite a success in alternating these holidays.
