Mike Bassett: England Manager (2001) is a satirical mockumentary film about a journeyman manger from the football league who is given the national team job just in time for the 2002 Brazil World Cup. Directed by Steve Barron and starring Ricky Tomlinson as the titular hero, the film quickly became a cult classic because of its razor sharp satirising of the England National team and everything that surrounds it.
