For many generations, the legacy that has been passed down has been one of mistrust, trauma, lack of wealth, police violence and brutality, mass incarceration and repeated macro and micro aggressions. As discussed in previous episodes, African Americans experience much higher rates of poverty, unemployment and negative health outcomes compared to their White counterparts. Is this what we want to leave future generations? Episode 6: Family Legacy, we will discuss the importance of leaving a family legacy, the statistics of the destruction of African American Legacies, importance of generational wealth, and what we can do to ensure that future generations are set moving forward.
