Are you worried that your ex is not going to return your child if you send him or her? It's a serious consideration. A lot of times people have good relationships and they're not really worried about it. They feel their ex-spouses are trustworthy enough to do the right thing. There are those couples who don't trust their ex-spouses to do the right thing. There's a history of taking them out of the jurisdiction. There's a history of taking children out of state without permission. What are you supposed to do about that? The first thing you should do is establish parameters. Make sure that your ex-spouse follows the established time for the pick-up and return of the child. Even with the court order, you still need to communicate these parameters. Document your interaction. You communicated it and documented your interaction. The other party ignores the rules. What you can do is set the tone. Set the boundaries. Contact your lawyer. Have your lawyer file the appropriate motion.  Make sure that your ex-spouse respect boundaries. You won't have recurring problems.
