On the 6 August in 2013, Michaella McCollum, from Northern Ireland and Melissa Reid from Scotland – both aged just 20 – were arrested at Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima in the South American country of Peru for attempting to smuggle £1.5M worth of cocaine out of the country. What followed would prove to be a living nightmare…
