Kendall and Jess discuss the first book in the Flesh and Fire series: A Shadow in the Ember by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Readers get a much-needed history lesson for the Blood and Ash series in this equally intriguing fantasy novel. Once again, Kendall and Jess are both always here for any kind of death god - it's just hot. They are both feeling much more clear on the events of A Crown of Gilded Bones after reading this one. Jess is very much not into the way a certain Primal god went all emo-sad-boi on Sera when things got tough, but she still loves him and very much loves that he is a ~quick study~. Kendall is loving the dark streak in Sera and appreciates the way she stands up for herself and doesn't take any shit. The ending of this book left them both wanting more!
