Kendall & Jess discuss the second book in the Crowns of Nyaxia series: The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King, by Carissa Broadbent. Neither of them can get over the length of these titles! Kendall is super sad about this being the final book in Oraya and Raihn's story, and Jess is wishing the slow burn was a little less slow. They both are on the edge of their seats waiting for the third book in the series to come out, which will have a new main character that fans already know and love! Thanks so much for tuning in to Season 4 of Talk Fiction to Me!

Kendall & Jess discuss the first book in the Crowns of Nyaxia series: The Serpent and the Wings of Night, by Carissa Broadbent. They both have a hard time finding a negative thing to say about this one, but feel that a certain MFC needs to take her blinders off when it comes to Dear Old Vampire Dad. This book is giving vampires meets Hunger Games for grown-ups, and the TFTM girls are totally here for it. Tune in next episode for their chat about the second book in this series, The Ashes and the Star-Cursed King!

Kendall and Jess discuss all three books in The War of Lost Hearts Trilogy, by Carissa Broadbent: Daughter of No Worlds, Children of Fallen Gods, and Mother of Death and Dawn. They both agree that Carissa knocked it out of the park with these books, introducing elements that don't feel like they've been rinsed and repeated in every other romantasy book series. Kendall is loving the very original names in these books, and Jess is just hoping she can attempt to pronounce them correctly. Tune in in to hear all of their thoughts and feelings - and join us again in the next episode for a conversation with the author herself!

Kendall and Jess discuss the final book of the Shadows and Crowns series, Queen of the Dawn by S.M. Gaither! Kendall and Jess discuss the tumultuous season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty, based on the book It's Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han. In an episode where one TSITP girl read the book first and one dove into the show without reading, there are a lot of opinions flying around. Jess has some VERY strong feelings about this particular love triangle, and Kendall lays out all of the differences between the book and the show and which one she likes better. Listen to find out whether they're Team Conrad or Team Jeremiah (as if there's even a real choice here, besties), and why their favorite relationship in this series has nothing to do with Belly, Jer, or Connie at all!

Jess and Kendall discuss the fifth Book in the Blood and Ash Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: A Soul of Ash and Blood. The TFTM girls love JLA, but they have some less than stellar opinions on this one. Jess had the misfortune of not having read the synopsis before diving in, but Kendall knew what she was getting herself into. That being said, their thoughts and feelings were pretty much on the same page for the latest addition to one of their favorite series. They still can't wait for the next book in the prequel series, Flesh and Fire, to come out in October!

Kendall & Jess talk about the Booktok sensation, Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. The girls are on the same page about this one: it's perfection, no notes. They are fully invested in the story arc of our main female character, Violet (or Violence, if you're Xaddy Xaden), and are anxiously awaiting what comes next for her. Xaden has quickly overtaken their dreams and is one of their new favorite Book Boyfriends by a wide margin. They are both on pins and needles waiting to read the next book when it comes out in November!

Kendall and Jess discuss the second book in the Flesh and Fire Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout: A Light in the Flame. Jess, who is usually not a prequel fan, is surprised by how invested she was in this book - and not just because she wanted more information about the Blood and Ash Series. Sera and Ash's story has captured them both, and that cliffhanger (in true JLA fashion) really left them wanting more. Kendall needs a chart to try and remember the family trees and the hierarchy of deities in this world. They are both as invested as ever in having a god of death as the male lead in this series, but are left with some burning unanswered questions. Tune in to the next episode for a rundown of other books the duo has read recently!
