This week we learn about Amy Garvey. Amy Ashwood Garvey was the first wife of Marcus Garvey and is acknowledged as building upon the feminist activist work of African and Caribbean feminists before her as well as pioneering the publishing world, founding 'Negro World', one of the first newspapers dedicated to black news and media coverage.

Also fighting for the rights of women at home in Jamaica, as always we have so much to learn about another Black 'British' Woman who was intent on changing history.
