S2E27: Grief Isn't Black Or White With Nancy Yeang

Listen Later

Trigger Warning: Conversation about child abuse and suicide

In today's episode, I interview my trauma writing graduate, Nancy Yeang. Nancy is a storyteller, yoga teacher, and Khmer American writing her memoir on being a first-gen child of refugees who survived the Khmer Rouge work camps. She shares her journey of grieving her mother's passing while also navigating the healing journey of their complicated relationship.

About Nancy Yeang:

Bio:
I’m Nancy Yeang and I’m a storyteller. For my 8 to 5, I do marketing and communications for Cal Poly Pomona, a university-based in Southern California. Personally, I am a Khmer American and my writings focus on being a first-gen child of refugees who survived the Khmer Rouge work camps, and the struggle of carrying on my heritage when it’s in the intersection of violence, love, and my experience of growing up and living in America.
