Hydrogen powered aircraft are expected sometime in 2035 with Airbus taking the lead. Today, Airbus announced the Hydrogen powered A380 test bed which plans to start flight testing in the middle of this decade. The engine is supplied by CFM, and is modified to run on hydrogen combustion.
