We're just not quite ready to let Harrison Ford go yet, so we move seamlessly from Clear and Present Danger to Air Force One, a roughly contemporaneous movie that could fit very neatly into the Jack Ryan universe, as canonically Jack does become President of the United States, in part for his actions during Clear and Present Danger. I hate knowing so much about these fuckin films.
A barely-concealed reaction to the Yugoslavian War, and in particular the Bosnian Genocide, this movie shows the president making a speech in which he promises the US will involve itself at the first sign of humanitarian crisis, rather than waiting for international consensus. This prompts a group of communist revanchists (Led by Gary Oldman) to invade and take control of Air Force One, the president's private plane.
