A string of murders with unusual circumstances leads to Mulder and new """friend""" Alex Krycek to uncover a Vietnam-era experimental program to eliminate soldiers' ability to sleep, leading to Todd as a kind of psychic Freddy Krueger, or perhaps more accurately, DC villain Dr. Destiny. In the process, we tackle topics such as the My Lai Massacre, Vietnam as cultural artifact, racial politics and religious allegory, and a lot more.
